Happiness is EASIER than you think

Before we tackle the third step of the ‘EASIER’ way to happiness tool, let’s recap and reflect on how well you have managed the first two parts of this six part guide…

Part 1: Engage and enjoy
Part 2: Attitude and action

No-one knows the answer to how well you are doing better than you do and your current levels of happiness will speak for themselves. If you are not yet as happy as you’d like to be or know you can be… don’t beat yourself up as this is the surest way to being unhappy. Use any guilt you feel to motivate yourself to change, get back on the horse and continue to take Key Steps on this journey with me right now …

Follow the ‘EASIER’ way to happiness – Part 3: Screen and Simplify

  1. Screen. Screen out the unnecessary and focus on important things. Exercise, sleep quality time with friends and family and having true ‘re-creation’ time are often the first things to be sacrificed in our quest for ‘achievement’. Yet there are often the very things required for achieving happiness. Frugality is something we are culturally cut off from understanding and enjoying. The consumption society has made us feel that happiness lies in having things and has failed to teach us the happiness of not having things. So, once you’ve screened, it’s up to you to

  2. Simplify. What do you have to say NO to, so you can say YES to the things that matter? You know what they are… perhaps taking on too many extra responsibilities at work and not delegating, perhaps it’s wasting time on the web, perhaps it is procrastinating or being a perfectionist? It is up to you. You can choose to simplify your life today and say YES to the things that really matter to you. Choose to be happy and

“be the difference that makes the difference
