A = Attitude, B = Beliefs, C = _______?

So far we have two core ingredients to a successful recipe for life… your attitude and your beliefs. What changes have you made the past few weeks? Are you becoming more aware of you inner critic? I hope so. And I hope you have drowned him out and replaced him or her with a voice that is inspiring, encouraging and allows you to live the best you and enjoy happiness right now. Let’s add the last ingredient for success and take Key Steps to exercise our basic human right… that right is…

C for ‘Choice’

1. Understand your power to choose. As Caroline Myss (Anatomy of the Spirit) says, “Managing the power of choice, with all its creative and spiritual implications, is the essence of the human experience. All spiritual teachings are directed toward inspiring us to recognise that the power to make choices is the dynamic that converts our spirits into matter, our words into flesh. Choice is the process of creation itself.” Napoleon Hill puts it very well too when he says, “It is always your next move.”

You use your power of choice every day, for example, you choose where you work, what you eat, the clothes you wear, when you go to bed, how much exercise you do, who you love, whether you think happy thoughts or not… These common on the surface ‘external’ examples of how we exercise our power to choose are the obvious conscious choices that we each make on a day-to-day basis. Most people overlook the fact that the vast majority of choices are made ‘unconsciously’, below conscious awareness. Realising this and choosing to live more consciously is where your real power lies. So ask yourself…

2. What do you choose today? What are you choosing today? You might not be able to choose what happens to you but you can choose how you respond. For example, if you feel stuck in a dead-end job, what are you doing to spice it up or find a new job or start your own business or talk to your boss… See, your choices are endless, aren’t they? And even by choosing to do nothing about it, you are making a choice. You create your life every day by what you choose. A big responsibility, isn’t it? That’s why it can sometimes be easier to play the victim and claim you have no choice (I know because I’ve been there). It might not be easy to acknowledge you create your reality but it sure is liberating when you connect with that power and it makes you unstoppable. Claim your birth right to choose today and…
